What is special in HR ABAP compared to ABAP?

What is special in HR-ABAP compared to ABAP?  Let us see.

Let us see what is special in HR module compared to other modules, thus requires special tools.

a. First point is that in HR we work with employees, unlike POs, Materials, Sales Orders.
More over employee data is very confidential and sensitive. Hence needs special care. AUTHORIZATION is an important concept here. Authorizations can be set at Infotype level as well.

b. Employees are Organization's biggest assets, especially in service and knowledge industries. Hence REPORTing on employees' various attributes is an important need. More over Govt. legislations also require various report from companies. Hence reporting is one of the biggest requirement here. Logical databases (LDB) provide tools to easily create reports.

c. HR module involves huge data. Be it payroll results, time results or change document of infotypes. Hence data is stored in CLUSTERs, not in transparent tables. Hence it is important to understand the ways to update and extract data from clustures. Macros and special FMs are used to fetch data from Clusters.

d. Master data involved with an employee is huge compared to say a material, PO or Sales order. Hence there needs to be screens to view and update the master data. Also employees' master data change with time. Hence time dependent data sorage is necessary. INFOTYPEs provides these.
